I build too many EDH decks (or Commander as it is now called). I'm a casual player with a limited budget, but I try to build my decks to a reasonable power level for a casual environment. This blog is where I plan on sharing them and any other thoughts I might have about Magic in general.

  1. Card of the Day - ShapesharerWhile shapesharer can’t be used to copy “enter the battlefield” effects, it has plenty of other advantages over clone. Being able to change to a different creature every turn lets you take advantage of better creatures entering the battlefield. It also lets you take out legendary creatures that enter the battlefield after you’ve already played shapesharer. Being able to use other shapeshifters in this way is handy too. Finally, the fact that shapesharer is a changeling means that it’ll play nicely in tribal decks, letting you tutor it up with cards like Vedalken Aethermage.

  5. Card of the Day - Long-Term PlansThis is a card that isn’t given enough respect. 3 mana to tutor at instant speed in blue is pretty good. There are a number of cards that can move the tutored card to the top of your library (top, crystal ball, Sylvan library, etc.), so that isn’t a big downside.

If you aren’t using him as your general, other colors have some handy tricks for him.
